About The Position

The Host is responsible for creating a welcoming, informative, and seamless experience for all guests, helping to broaden our mission and profile, increase guest satisfaction, and enhance the overall visitor experience. Our Hosts exhibit exemplary service, serving as the first point of contact and leaving a lasting, positive impression on every guest.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
Excellent people skills and an outgoing personality
Possess a strong commitment to customer service
Highest ethics in regard to honesty, integrity, and work ethic
First-hand knowledge of service steps and dining room procedures
Experience with customer service in a hospitality environment
Previous experience as a Bartender required
Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings
Must be able to move quickly, stand, bend, and lift for periods of up to 4 hours
Ability to carry large, heavy trays
Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism with both co-workers and Museum Guests
Possess strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills

Responsibilities

Maintain thorough knowledge of exhibitions, performances, history, and events.
Maintain thorough knowledge of the Tower Bar’s hours of operation, services, menus, specials, and “Edible Responsibility.”
Greet and seat guests in a timely, friendly, and professional manner.
Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow using appropriate tools and systems.
Provide an atmosphere aligned with our mission and vision.
Deliver consistent, high-level service through collaboration and teamwork.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entryway.
Complete all assigned opening and closing duties as required.
Communicate effectively with service staff to ensure smooth table turns and guest satisfaction.
Provide accurate information to guests regarding menu offerings, events, and venue layout.
Monitor guest wait times and offer solutions to enhance the guest experience when delays occur.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and presentation in guest-facing areas.
Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to guest inquiries or concerns.
Support service team during peak times with guest engagement and wayfinding.
Other duties as assigned.
