As a tower lead for our Illinois market, you will assist the crew foreman with site management duties that include tower and ground operations, sweep testing, tower maintenance and installation, coaxial and antenna installation and required RF testing, and related responsibilities in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines. Every day, you will interact with customers and subcontractors, and you will communicate with the foreman about work progress and known issues. You will also provide training, guidance, and work leadership to direct subordinate climbers/tower technicians to maximize safety and productivity, minimize costs, and maintain quality. What We Need from You In order to thrive in this role, you must be able to climb towers and work at heights up to 500 feet, performing manual labor in outdoor environments. You must possess basic computer skills and be able to complete/submit paperwork by required deadlines. Experience in the telecommunications industry, coupled with the following skills, is also desired: Ability to travel extensively with frequent overtime and some evening and weekend work A valid driver's license and ability to qualify as an approved company driver Prior experience with LTE upgrades and other relevant technology Advanced knowledge of OSHA safety and quality guidelines, relevant tools and equipment, and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the telecommunications construction field Demonstrated understanding of crane signals and ability to demonstrate whoops Ability to perform rescues Ability to train and develop subordinate staff Demonstrated understanding of safe/proper complex rigging procedures, working load limits, weatherproofing, tower precon, and advanced cathead knowledge Ability to read and understand construction drawings and RFDS Knowledge of rigging and mounting procedures for all antennas and equipment Knowledge of different carriers, color codes, and routing guidelines Ability to direct tower top troubleshooting Ability to configure RETs Ability to complete JSAs, conduct tailgate meetings, and run a tiger team Ability to use a compass and understand declination Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to drive a truck and trailer and back it up competently Ability to perform vehicle inspections and complete daily DOT paperwork Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, both verbally and in writing Ability to pass all required pre-employment processes, including a background check, DOT inspection, and drug screen
