We are currently recruiting to fill the following position: AbilityOne N/A PRIDE Industries Job Description Job: Tractor Operator SCA Occup: 11270 Tractor Operator Salary Grade: Federal Wage Determination or Collective Bargaining Agreement FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Approval Date: March 2017 POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the Tractor Operator operates a diesel or gasoline powered tractor and associated equipment to perform grounds maintenance operations including cutting grass in landscaped and non-landscaped areas of commercial and public grounds. This job class requires practical skill and knowledge of grounds keeping practices, equipment, and using safe work practices.
Requirements
- One or more years of experience in operating tractors or similar heavy equipment
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions and instructions
- Ability to follow established safety rules applicable to tractor operators, to maintain a safe environment, and to adapt and respond to potentially hazardous conditions and use the appropriate PPE
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities, and to build effective working relationships with coworkers and customers
- Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common sense skills
Responsibilities
- Operates a tractor to move materials, draw implements, tow trailers, and pull objects embedded in ground
- Pull cable of winch to raise, lower, or load heavy material or equipment
- Fasten attachments such as graders, plows, rollers, mowers, backhoes, seeders or disc harrows to tractor
- Monitors and reviews equipment, structures, materials, events, and environment to detect and assess problems. Identifies the cause and evaluates options for the best solution
- Adheres to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks
- May lubricate and make minor repairs to tractor and attachments
- Inspects tractors and equipment per company requirements to ensure proper operation and safe condition
- Where required, also performs grounds maintenance laborer duties
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
