About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY As a Truck and Trailer Lead at WEL, you would provide preventive maintenance to WEL Companies trailers and equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform preventive maintenance on Class 8 Trucks, Trailers and Reefers. Follow checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined. Tag all warranty parts and return to warranty clerk. Attend training classes, keep tabs on factory technical bulletins and train other employees. Properly complete the service and/or repairs assigned by supervisor. Perform final inspections on all equipment prior to making it ready. Handle day-to-day responsibilities during the supervisor’s absence. Assist in process and procedure changes. Provide employee performance to management. Willing to answer calls outside of scheduled work hours. Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures. Participate in, and utilize to the best of one’s abilities, management-assigned technical training. Maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner. Ensure Guest and WEL vehicles are returned as clean as they were prior to being serviced. Show the upmost courtesy to all guests, visitors, and coworkers. Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management for yourself and other employees. Adhere to manufacturer’s policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time and repair order documentation when performing warranty repairs and torque specifications. Any other technician-related duties as outlined by the Service Supervisor and or management. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of fleet or dealership experience
  • Teammate with a strong sense of dedication to customers and peers.
  • Self-motivated and professional.
  • Possessing own tools

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree (Diesel Mechanic or relatable field)
  • ASE Certification
  • 608 / 609 Type 2 Certification
  • CDL Certification
  • Reefer experience
  • tool allowances available
