We are currently seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst Lead to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a senior subject-matter expert ensuring that Lakeshore’s global import and export activities meet all applicable U.S. and international trade regulations. This role provides advanced classification expertise, leads complex cross-functional projects and drives continuous improvement in compliance processes, reporting and controls. The Lead Trade Compliance Analyst acts as the primary liaison between internal teams, customs brokers and regulatory agencies, providing timely guidance, managing escalations, and supporting strategic decision-making through data analysis and risk assessments. The position requires operating with a high degree of independence, as the successful candidate will influence key stakeholders and strengthen organizational compliance maturity while helping to shape policies, procedures and standards that safeguard Lakeshore’s supply chain integrity. Applicants should have at least five years of import/export experience for an import broker or a medium to large corporation. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems using multiple data sources. A day on the job looks like this: Classifying and identifying goods using the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and related regulatory standards while maintaining awareness of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) updates, proposed changes and regulatory notices Leading cross-functional projects and partnering with stakeholders to identify opportunities, implement solutions, support process optimization and appropriately escalate issues Acting as the primary point of contact, managing shipment statuses and documentation for internal teams with specialized monitoring, reporting or compliance needs Conducting thorough audits on customs entry declarations and maintaining a standard percentage of ongoing audits to ensure compliance and process improvement Partnering with senior leadership in the development, administration and enforcement of policies and procedures to enhance compliance levels for both imports and exports Updating HTS classifications as changes are implemented by the CBP and as rulings are issued for imported products Preparing and analyzing trade compliance data and creating reports to track key performance indicators, supporting data-driven decision-making Identifying and resolving customs clearance delays and compliance issues by working directly with customs brokers and relevant internal teams to ensure smooth processing, escalating issues when necessary Managing and maintaining recordkeeping for customs entry declaration, U.S. Antidumping and Countervailing Duties and other government agency requirements Monitoring and ensuring compliance with export controls, economic sanctions and country-specific import/export requirements for exported product
