About The Position

Main TasksManage and oversee import and export activities, procedures and policies, including but not limited to the following:  Develop, implement and maintain trade compliance program in accordance with U.S. laws and regulations as well as in accordance with company policies and procedures.   Evaluate and drive opportunities to streamline and standardize process and procedures.   Collaborate and build cross functional relationships with in the business to drive compliance.  Manage import customs reporting and customs valuation, country of origin and classification.   Complete and maintain Customs Compliance Manual. Create and maintain documented process and procedures to align with Customs Compliance manual in business /entities.   Manage customs brokers, maintain customs brokerage SOP and evaluate performance   Oversee Export and Import declarations and processes (including Importer security filings), implement as necessary.   Ensure product classification integrity for both HTS and Jurisdiction and Classification  Maintain global trade data (HTS, JC, COO) and communicate as needed  Implement and conduct Trade Compliance Training as needed.  Post entry audit and AES audit to ensure compliance with US regulations  Record retention compliance   Business liaison with U.S. Customs, and other agencies as required  Communicate import and export regulatory updates, metrics and other data as identified to management and business stakeholders.  Ensure adequate resources dedicated to trade compliance functions and make recommendations to cross function partners/management and leadership.   Identify areas of duty/cost recovery and implement programs accordingly   Resolve import and export issues with business, brokerage, third parties and vendors.   Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • 8-10 years experience in trade compliance for importer/exporter
  • Experienced and Knowledgeable 19 CFR Customs Duties, Foreign Trade Regulations, EAR 15 CFR and CTPAT Minimum Security Criteria
  • Background in customs compliance and tariff management
  • Classification experience with both HTS and Jurisdiction and Classification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast past environment
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong time management, prioritization, analytical and organization skills
  • Problem solver and detail oriented
  • Must be authorized to work in the US

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP, or similar ERP’s preferred
  • CTPAT program experience is a plus
