Job Summary The Trade Operations Analyst provides operational and analytical support of operations within a mortgage trading environment from deal origination through the lifecycle of the transaction including business analysis support. This includes regular and ad hoc reporting and data analysis. This role works closely with other team members within Arch Mortgage Funding as well as Arch Mortgage Insurance Underwriting Operations. This role will sit hybrid in the Raleigh or Greensboro, NC office on a hybrid schedule of two days in the office, three days remote.

Requirements

  • High proficiency of Excel, SAS, SQL.
  • Ability to learn other programming languages and tools as needed.
  • Advanced critical thinking, quantitative, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience working between multiple assignments simultaneously, with varied degrees of complexity, priority, and duration.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate and convey information to business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently as well as contribute to a team environment.
  • Possess personal qualities compatible with a highly collegial and collaborative culture.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or other analytical field required or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Snowflake, Sigma helpful but not required.
  • Mortgage loan trade operations, mortgage insurance, reinsurance, mortgage, or financial services industry experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Using tools such as Excel, SAS, SQL and others ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the business unit data warehouse and resolution of discrepancies in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reports for stakeholders throughout the business unit, ensuring accuracy of data, and providing overview analysis for the recipients.
  • Develop new and enhance existing SAS/SQL programs and provide appropriate reporting and analysis of the results to enable management to make sound business decisions.
  • Lead loan exchange and product & pricing engine (PPE) user acceptance testing activities to validate accuracy and resolve any identified discrepancies.
  • Maintain and optimize funding memo and pricing validation logic and automation to support accurate mortgage loan trading activities.
  • Collaborate with team members to create clear and concise technical requirements that support the business unit.
  • Cross functionally works with Secondary Market, Credit, IT, Sales, Treasury, Accounting, vendors and other constituents in a collaborative environment.
  • Collaborate with business in the development and maintenance of processes, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Contribute to the adoption of new technologies and tools to fulfill business unit and company goals.
  • Promptly escalate potential risk and exposures to management.
