About The Position

OTC Markets Group operates regulated markets for trading over 12,000 U.S. and international securities. Our innovative technology, data solutions, and corporate services empower issuers and investors to navigate public markets with efficiency and transparency. We are seeking a highly motivated Trading Platform Intern to join our New York-based Technology Department for a 9-Week Paid Internship Program. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-time trading systems and market technology. You will work with engineers to support platform enhancements, analyze system behavior, and help build tools that improve performance, automation, and user interaction across our trading platforms. Program Dates: June 1, 2026 - July 31, 2026 Compensation: Up to $25.00 per hour Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote) Throughout the program, the intern will develop a deep understanding of trading platform practices in a dynamic financial services environment and will have the opportunity to present their key learnings and contributions to the company at the conclusion of the internship. Requirements

Strong interest or experience with large language models (LLMs) and building natural language to SQL (NL→SQL) or similar AI driven query workflows.
Ability to design or follow multi step reasoning pipelines (intent extraction → SQL generation → validation → execution → explanation).
Understanding of query safety principles, such as enforcing SELECT only behavior, limiting results, validating inputs, and implementing guardrails.
Strong analytical reasoning with the ability to work with large, high-volume datasets, including grouping, ranking, comparisons, and trend analysis.
Programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar modern languages for backend and data centric logic.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with AWS Bedrock (or similar managed LLM platforms) and LangChain (or similar orchestration frameworks), plus exposure to SQL parsing/validation, materialized views/summary tables, and containerization (Docker), highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services that process natural-language questions, extract intent, and generate structured data queries using modern AI/ML tools.
Develop backend logic that converts natural-language questions into structured data queries, using widely available AI/ML tools.
Implement validation and safety controls to ensure generated queries are accurate, efficient, and secure.
Work with large datasets to return rankings, comparisons, trends, summaries, and other analytical insights.
Document the design, architecture, and learnings, and deliver a working demo at the end of the internship.
