About The Position

WINK News is seeking a dynamic Traffic Anchor/MMJ to deliver live, accurate traffic reports during our morning newscasts while also producing high-quality news content across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. This role combines a strong on-air presence with the ability to report, shoot, write, and edit stories under tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of on-air reporting/anchoring experience
  • Strong storytelling, writing, and ad-lib skills
  • Ability to work independently as an MMJ
  • Proficiency with newsroom and traffic systems
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in outdoor conditions
  • Ability to travel to various locations for story coverage

Responsibilities

  • Deliver live, engaging traffic updates on road conditions, accidents, and commuter impacts
  • Provide real-time updates across broadcast, digital, and social platforms
  • Report on breaking news and enterprise stories as an MMJ
  • Shoot, write, edit, and present news stories
  • Perform live shots and develop story ideas relevant to the community
  • Collaborate with newsroom staff and contribute to daily editorial coverage
