About The Position

Safety Services and Supply is excited to announce we are hiring for traffic control supervisors. We are one of the industry’s leaders in working with class 1 and short line railroads to ensure workers safety while working on the track and to maintain safe routes for the public while work is being performed. Day to day activities are as followed: Communicating with railroad, hospitals, law enforcement, schools, and other public municipalities Closing a road or multiple roads with ensuring the safety of the railroad workers Set up and maintain traffic control for a variety of traffic control schemes such as pilot car operation, lane closure, and road closures including detour routes Opening of the roads, picking up barricades and other material so traffic can safely take the route that was closed We are looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our team. Requirements

  • 21 years old or older – Auto Insurance requirement for us
  • Clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Pass DOT physical
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and commitment to remain drug free
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly throughout work shift
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment (work boots - 6 inch with safety toe and pronounced heel, safety glasses, hard hat, and safety vest)

Nice To Haves

  • Traffic control: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Project Management: 1 year (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Implement proper traffic control to ensure safety of the public
  • Setting up and breaking down traffic control equipment such as road closure barricades, sign stands and other traffic control material
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  • Complete daily paperwork accurately and timely
  • Be able to use Electronic Log Devices (ELD) and maintain hours of service
