About The Position
We are seeking a detail -oriented and safety -driven Tanker Inspector to ensure tankers, cargo tanks, and related equipment meet all regulatory, safety, and structural integrity standards. This role plays a critical part in preventing failures, maintaining compliance, and protecting both personnel and the environment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, inspection experience, and a deep understanding of safety regulations and documentation.
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical inspection, heavy equipment, tankers, or industrial equipment
- Strong knowledge of safety and compliance standards
- Ability to read technical drawings and inspection criteria
- Comfortable working in shop and outdoor environments
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Basic computer skills for reporting
Nice To Haves
- CTMV (Certified Cargo Tank Inspector)
- API 510, 653, or 570
- NDT experience (UT, MT, PT, VT)
- Welding inspection background (CWI)
- DOT cargo tank inspection experience
Responsibilities
- Perform visual and mechanical inspections of tanker units, cargo tanks, or storage tanks
- Inspect welds, valves, piping, structural components, and safety systems
- Conduct or assist with pressure testing, leak testing, and thickness testing
- Verify compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and industry standards
- Identify defects, corrosion, cracks, or structural concerns
- Document findings in detailed inspection reports
- Recommend repairs, maintenance, or removal from service when necessary
- Work closely with maintenance teams and management on corrective actions
- Maintain inspection tools, gauges, and testing equipment
- Follow all company and site -specific safety protocols
