About The Position

The Train Crew and Entertainment Manager oversees the safe and efficient movement of trains in service and is directly responsible for management of the department including staff management, safety of employees and passengers, and training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in a customer service role in a tourist or similar industry
  • Minimum of 3 years in an operations management role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of/willingness to learn all job positions in the Train Crew Department.
  • Ability to ascend/descend train steps/ladders and crawl on, under and around locomotive and passengers’ cars while performing needed maintenance functions.
  • Good balance/equilibrium: walk on moving trains, graveled, uneven and/or sloped surfaces that may be wet/slippery while carrying lantern and flashlight.
  • Must possess organizational skills with ability to multi-task while prioritizing workload with practical, flexible and innovative approach to work.
  • Ability to communicate successfully with a variety of personalities and function effectively as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safe operation of the train.
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers during all interactions at the depot or while onboard the train.
  • Communicate with MNA and mechanical team regarding train movements.
  • Responsible for preparing operational safety training alongside the AHR Safety and Regulatory Compliance Manager.
  • Work with AHR Management to ensure BSR is within compliance of FRA and Company policies related to passenger and crew safety.
  • Completes “On the Job” training, observations and tests for all Train Crew employees.
  • Must be trained and familiar with covering all onboard train positions.
  • Prepares work schedules for all Train Crew and Entertainment Staff.
  • Maintains records as instructed under 49CFR and Company policies.
  • Manage employee performance, recruiting, and training alongside the HR Department as it relates to train crew and entertainment staff.
  • Enforce BSR company and Federal/State required procedures, safety and operating rules.
  • Occasionally work in an industrial setting at the railyard during maintenance of locomotives, passenger’s cars and other equipment.
  • Assist mechanical with pre-departure inspections and tests as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
