About The Position

As a Trainer, Patient Transporter, you'll provide guidance for our newly hired Patient Transporters who offer a reassuring presence while escorting patients throughout our hospital. Full Time Role - 40 Hours a Week Shifts will be 8 Hours per day - Evenings - 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm Rotating Holidays and Works Every Third Weekend Training - newly hired Patient Transporters to our team Involves Lots of Walking Across the BJH Campus - 5-6 miles per shift Requires Direct Patient Interaction Partnership with BILD for Career Development and Growth Additional Preferred Requirements Patient Transporter Experience highly desired Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The goal of the Patient Transport Department is to transport patients in a safe and timely manner throughout the medical complex, promote the safety and well being of all patients that we serve, and maintain transport equipment within the medical complex. Patient Transport employs a state of the art Tele-Tracking system to facilitate and coordinate assignments throughout the hospital to support efficiency and customer/patient care. Patient Transport offers career opportunities starting in entry level progressing into lead, trainer, supervisor, and management positions.

Requirements

  • <2 years

Responsibilities

  • Delivers on the job training to new employees and ensures on-going, comprehensive training and development of new employees by following the department training program and documenting the performance and progress of each individual trained.
  • Assists in planning and delivering some departmental orientations, in services, and testing.
  • Provides feedback to management regarding selection of recruits and on-going counsel and advice to new employees.
  • Assumes lead responsibilities in their absence.
