About The Position

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Training & Development Specialist position. The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for organizing, creating, facilitating and delivering educating and effectively training to our teams within Norco. This position will actively collaborate with regional teams to ensure learning and promoting the mission statement, culture, and expectations to all Norco team members. This candidate will cover Utah, Wyoming, and Eastern Idaho.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in a training or educational environment.
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and web conferencing programs.
  • Strong presentation skills with experience in facilitation, presentation, and coaching skills (one on one and in group settings).
  • Ability to collaborate with others and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Accurately enter data into computer and acquire a working knowledge of any software applications applicable to the position.
  • Previous knowledge of various product lines and products carried by company (including Home Medical Equipment, cylinders and gases, welders, etc.).
  • Read reports, computer screens, mobile devices, etc.
  • Ability to move equipment up to 25 lbs., with or without assistance; including but not limited to medical and industrial equipment.
  • Mobility to travel to other offices within a regional area.
  • Listen to and respond to spoken requests such as on a telephone, in a training session, or in a one-on-one meeting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, maintain, and effectively conduct an ongoing curriculum that helps to drive skills, policy, and compliance areas including sales, customer service, and exceptional care.
  • Evaluate and modify existing or proposed trainings with content reviewed and approved by Norco Leadership; support and identify priorities, measurable indicators, and communication plans for all initiatives aligned to the program.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of all Norco systems, programs, policies, and procedures and continually develop as a subject matter expert.
  • Present training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations and videos.
  • Deliver high impact, succinct content to drive learning of company initiatives and processes (customer service, systems, products, sales, and solutions).
  • Organize and conduct training needs analysis; develop training recommendations and coordinate training support for team members/teams with Regional Vice Presidents and Management to ensure consistency across the company.
  • Educate on policies and procedures that establish a safety culture within Norco.
  • May recommend corrective actions as needed for store locations operating inconsistent with the desired Norco Compliance and Safety Culture being trained to.
  • May administers scores, and logs results of qualification, learning assessment, and retention tests; arranges retraining or other appropriate action for insufficient scores.
  • As needed, perform internal compliance audits of Norco facilities and share results.
  • Ensure employees are performing Norco procedures or manufacturer’s recommendations in an appropriate manner.
  • Assist Norco leadership in identifying improvement projects, new methods, solutions and/or procedures that addresses root causes of concerns or issues.
  • Independently evaluate training opportunities and suggest recommendations to Norco Leadership.
  • Train, develop, and motivate all team members in a continuous improvement-based approach.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in regional and training workshops.
  • Follow safe work procedures and ensure adherence to practice of safety daily.
  • Provide onsite support as required during company acquisitions.
  • Support internal and external communications as assigned.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs for Team Members to increase their awareness and understanding of their job responsibilities, safety, compliance, and quality contributions.
