About The Position

The purpose of the Training Supervisor is to lead, coordinate, and oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs for child welfare professionals and agency personnel. This role ensures that all training initiatives align with system of care standards, best practices, and organizational goals. The Training Supervisor also provides leadership and guidance to training staff, supports professional development, and oversees credentialing and compliance processes to enhance workforce competency and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university; preferably in social work, psychology, or a related human services area.
  • Current, unencumbered certification in Child Welfare through the Florida Certification Board.
  • Certified as a Child Welfare Professional for a minimum of five (5) years.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Prior training experience or facilitation experience required
  • Strong training and facilitation skills are essential for delivering engaging and impactful sessions using various methods such as workshops, webinars, and hands-on activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of child welfare policies, trauma-informed care, and cultural competency is crucial for ensuring that the training aligns with system standards and best practices.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written, is necessary to convey complex information clearly and address the needs of participants.
  • Organizational and project management skills are key to efficiently managing training schedules, resources, and materials while meeting deadlines.
  • Technological proficiency, including experience with learning management systems and e-learning tools, is also important in modern training environments.
  • The ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and provide support through empathetic listening helps foster a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Analytical skills are needed to assess training effectiveness and continuously improve content and delivery.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential for adjusting methods to accommodate different learning styles or unexpected challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor training staff, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee and coordinate training activities, ensuring alignment with agency goals, regulatory requirements, and workforce needs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for leadership regarding training priorities, needs, and outcomes.
  • Design, implement, and facilitate training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to child welfare.
  • Participate in discussions on curriculum updates, instructional methods, and emerging training needs.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, e-learning modules, and handouts.
  • Ensure training content reflects current policies, best practices, regulatory standards, and the specific needs of staff roles.
  • Organize and manage training sessions, tracking attendance, completion, and scheduling to ensure accessibility for all staff.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, adjusting content and delivery as needed.
  • Review reports from internal and subcontracted providers to ensure training aligns with system of care needs.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify training needs and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee and ensure staff compliance with mandatory training requirements, including certifications, credentials, and continuing education.
  • Maintain and update learning management system (LMS) access and agency training plans.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to staff to improve application of training concepts in the field.
  • Serve as a qualified assessor for completion of field observation requirements for child welfare staff.
  • Lead group discussions, workshops, and interactive learning experiences to promote engagement and retention.
  • Coordinate with community providers to ensure delivery of specialty or group learning topics.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of training activities, participant progress, and certifications for compliance purposes.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual record-keeping for agency staff and subcontracted providers.
  • Update training programs based on latest research, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Attend “train-the-trainer” sessions or other professional development as required.
  • Supervise the credentialing process for child welfare staff, including eligibility advisement, auditing, documentation processing, and registration approval for required training.
  • Perform field-based activities, including observation of staff performance and support, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and agency goals.
