What You will Achieve: With our continued growth in the Transmission & Distribution sector, we are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer. You will be involved with a wide range of challenging and high-impact transmission projects from greenfield line development and storm hardening to renewable energy interconnections and voltage upgrades. Our Power Group provides full-service engineering and design solutions for utility, institutional, and commercial clients across the U.S., with a strong focus on reliability, sustainability, and innovation. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in transmission line engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of transmission line design tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE/TOWER, or MFAD.
- Understanding of industry codes and standards.
Nice To Haves
- EIT highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed design and engineering for overhead transmission and sub-transmission lines, including structure and foundation design, conductor/optical ground wire hardware selection, and line routing.
- Prepare construction drawings, technical specifications, and bill of materials.
- Use industry-standard tools such as PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE/TOWER, MFAD for line design and modeling.
- Conduct structural analysis, loading calculations, and clearance verifications.
- Collaborate with civil, environmental, permitting, real estate, survey department, control center, substation, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure designs comply with industry codes, and client-specific standards.
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
