The Transportation Associate Coordinator is responsible for executing and supporting daily dock and warehouse transportation activities to ensure efficient flow of inbound and outbound freight. This role manages order assignments, coordinates dock operations, supports supervisors through workload analysis, and maintains accuracy within key systems such as WMS, SAP, and the E80 GUI. The Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring orders, loads, and inventory tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with shipping schedules and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • 1 + year experience in warehouse required.
  • Must work and participate effectively in a team environment
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with carriers, customers (both external and internal) and distribution operations
  • Timely and effective verbal and written communications
  • Highly self-motivated and self-managed, with excellent prioritization and organization skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, to all levels of management

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree desired
  • Two or more years of experience in transportation operations desired.
  • Demonstrate understanding of logistics supply chain systems
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and a Warehouse Management System desired

Responsibilities

  • Assign orders to forklift operators and distribute workload to meet shipping, receiving, and customer pick‑up timelines.
  • Coordinate all orders and unloading activities using WMS and the E80 GUI to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
  • Manage dock door assignments using E80 SA Locations to optimize flow and maximize operator efficiency.
  • Ensure completion of daily dock schedules for customer loads, STO movements, case pick tasks, and line loading.
  • Analyze workload demand and task difficulty to support supervisor planning.
  • Ensure assignments are coordinated with supervisors to align with employee rotation schedules.
  • Assist supervisors in managing and reducing aging inventory within WMS.
  • Support inventory control, lot management, equipment utilization, and scheduling processes.
  • Ensure all hold product is properly documented and assigned the correct WMS status.
  • Research order and pickup details using WMS and SAP to resolve questions or discrepancies.
  • Troubleshoot WMS inventory control issues alongside supervisors and forklift operators.
  • Manage product availability by analyzing shortages and applying proper reason codes.
  • Coordinate periodic WMS maintenance activities to ensure system integrity.
  • Assign live or drop carriers to the most efficient dock doors to optimize loading and unloading costs.
  • Ensure vessels are checked out accurately and on time according to end‑of‑period requirements.
  • Monitor dock activity throughout the day to maintain workflow efficiency and resolve issues proactively.
  • Maintain strong document control, including: Bills of lading for shipments and receipts Customer return documentation Daily dock schedules Yard check records
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with internal processes and customer expectations.
  • Comply with all plant safety rules
  • Wear all PPE on the plant floor
  • Walk only on designated walkways
  • Support new materials and product testing on the shift
  • Ensure product status is accurate (Inspection, QA Hold, Shippable, or Incubation)
  • Ensure inbound damage is segregated and recorded.
  • Ensure trailer specifications meet guidelines
  • Meet all customer driven initiatives
  • Exceed critical customer service KPI’s (Fill Rate, RAD, Line Load %)
  • Complete all OS&D and customer returns
  • Utilization of ATP report and key WMS functions to support customer service
  • Monitor arrival and departures in order to minimize detention expense
  • Support product rotation and minimize old age products
  • Demonstrate effective communication, motivation, and leadership skills
  • Maintain a professional approach and appearance for work activities
  • Be able to flex work schedule to support a 24x7 operation, including 12 hour shifts and weekends.
