About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Vice President, Safety & Security Compliance, the Transportation Compliance Manager leads proactive compliance assurance efforts by using telematics, Novus scheduling software, and predictive analytics to identify risk and service delivery gaps. The Transportation Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring the regulatory compliance of the transportation program and for assisting in the development and oversight of all transportation service delivery-related policies and procedures. This position serves as the subject matter expert in DOT guidelines and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR). Essential Functions and Work Responsibilities Functional Category: Transportation Service Delivery Compliance Estimated Percent of time Spent – 70% Assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining the Transportation service delivery related policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local regulations and standards. Conduct daily audits of drivers to ensure compliance and productivity through a fleet management and tracking software system. Analyze compliance data and metrics to identify trends, areas of risk, and opportunities for process improvement. Conduct thorough transportation service delivery compliance investigations, including interviews, data analysis, process reviews, follow-up, and documentation. Recommend corrective action, post-investigation improvement and support strategies, and other remediation as required, including policy changes to address issues identified during investigations. Leverage data to identify trends and opportunities and develop reports, metrics, and other materials as needed for regular updates on internal investigations to a variety of stakeholders. Generate compliance reports for leadership, including KPIs, audit findings, and statistics. Track corrective actions from audits through closure and report compliance status to leadership. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Monitor regulatory developments and changes in transportation laws to ensure company policies and procedures remain current and compliant. Conduct regular internal audits to verify compliance with all applicable regulations and identify areas requiring corrective action. Audit driver qualification files, ensuring all required documentation is properly maintained, updated, and readily accessible for regulatory inspections. Audit vehicle maintenance records to ensure preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and repairs meet regulatory and company standards. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Requires state issued driver’s license, personal transportation, good driving record and auto insurance as required by law, and the ability to travel
  • Minimum six (6) years progressive experience in transportation compliance, including audit management, ELD/telematics oversight, and FMCSR interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of DOT guidelines and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
  • Extensive experience using Novus or similar software programs.
  • High proficiency in data science, business intelligence tools, SQL, and statistical analysis.
  • Proven ability to conduct and document compliance investigations, including interviews, data analysis, and corrective action planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation or Supply Chain.
  • Health-care industry related transportation experience.
  • Experience using Epic electronic medical records software.
  • Familiarity with telematics and predictive risk modeling in transportation.
