Our Patients are our Purpose and Motivation and we invite you to join our Team! Strategy | Focus | Purpose We are seeking a professional and compassionate CNA Transportation driver to join our Team. You will be responsible for transporting individuals, including the elderly and people with developmental disabilities, to and from designated locations. In addition to the transportation responsibilities, you will also provide residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan and as directed by supervisors when not transporting Residents.

Requirements

  • Education Required | High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certification Required | Licensed Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) in accordance with state laws
  • Texas Driver's License with a responsible driving record
  • Working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and medical office procedures
  • Understanding of critical care situations
  • Proficiency in handling Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
  • Be a supportive Team Member | Contribute to and be an example of Teamwork and concept
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public
  • Ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
  • Demonstrate patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and have the capability and soft skills to handle difficult residents
  • Seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
  • Relate information concerning a resident’s conditions
  • Not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace
  • Able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport passengers to and from various destinations
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle in accordance with OSHA Regulations
  • Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and fueled
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of trips and passenger details
  • Maintain and review digital or hardcopy records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance and inventories | Reflect as appropriate in the facility assessment
  • Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures and protocols for establishing a structure for identification of vendor partners, supply formularies, etc.
  • Ensure all telephone orders are confirmed with purchase order | Retain purchase orders verifying price per unit and terms | Reconcile with invoice(s) for accuracy in accordance with facility policies
  • Conduct all necessary administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Administrator as required
  • Maintain current records that reflect facility expenditures including cost, inventory, etc.
  • Monitor procurement practices for compliance with established facility policies and procedures at least annually
  • Prepare correspondence and claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc., and return to vendor as required | Revise the facility assessment
  • Review complaints and grievances and make necessary verbal or written reports to the Administrator
  • Assist in developing methods for determining quality and quantity of supplies and equipment purchased
  • Make written and verbal reports/recommendations to the Administrator concerning procurement procedures
  • Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished
  • Ensure correct/complete invoices are forwarded to the business/accounting office for payment
  • Fill requisitions, as approved, and file in accordance with established facility policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing and monitoring adequate inventory control procedures
  • Organize/supervise storage, control and issue of supplies and equipment in accordance with established facility policies and procedures
  • Check invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, etc., with incoming merchandise | Reconcile as needed
  • Ensure inventory is updated when receiving/issuing supplies and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with storage instructions on merchandise received | Follow manufacturer recommendation on the use of products | Educate supervisors on recommendations
  • Participate in and represent the facility at meetings
  • Ensure various departments are properly charged with the supplies and equipment they have received for cost allocation purposes
  • Ensure that vendors provide appropriate safety data sheets (SDSs) in accordance with current Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and the facility’s policies and procedures | Report problem areas to the Administrator and the Risk Manager
  • Assist the Safety Compliance Officer with filing of annual medical device reporting requirements as well as completing and filing incident reports involving a medical device
  • Coordinate procurement with other departments as necessary to meet the needs of resident population
  • Assist the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Coordinator in developing and implementing a quality assurance program for purchasing
  • Attend and participate in annual facility training programs (e.g., OSHA, tuberculosis (TB), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), abuse prevention, safety, infection prevention and control, etc.)
  • Attend and participate in facility in-service training programs as instructed including resident rights, prevention of abuse and neglect, dementia care, behavioral management and competencies
  • Attend and participate in scheduled orientation programs and activities
  • Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes
  • Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to the Administrator and the Risk Manager immediately
  • Report all accidents/incidents in accordance with established facility policies and procedures | Fill out and file reports as directed
