About The Position

Dewberry is currently seeking a Transportation Project Manager in our Denver, CO office to lead our strategic growth initiative within the transportation market segment. This opportunity will provide the ideal candidate with an exceptional opportunity for expedited advancement into a Department Management role and to lead ALL transportation efforts in the Colorado market. The successful candidate will possess strong market intelligence that can be leveraged for new client/project opportunities and recruiting efforts needed to grow a new department. This position will work with leadership to develop the marketing strategy, grow transportation, and work on all phases of Transportation Projects for a variety of public sector clients. The candidate will provide a critical leadership role and will initially have access to existing Dewberry clients and projects to help launch the growth initiative. Transportation projects will include horizontal and vertical road alignments, drainage systems, storm water management, utility relocations and preparation of contract documents. This position may also engage Dewberry’s California market which is the Western Region’s hub for transportation. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with a strong drive to utilize existing market knowledge to assemble a production team, become the internal and external leader of the growth initiative, and ultimately, promote into a Department Manager position. Requirements

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Colorado Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 10+ years of experience in transportation engineering required
  • Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation InRoads
  • Ability to develop and implement a strategic growth plan
  • Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project budgets
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, and review staff
  • Ability to compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communication
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects
  • The successful candidate must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused.
  • The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and requires strong capabilities in Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • The position requires 10+ years of leadership experience in the planning and design of state and local transportation infrastructure, including but not limited to roadway design, intersections, interchanges, utilities, drainage, stormwater management, and coordination with other disciplines as necessary.
  • The successful candidate must be flexible, technologically savvy, and client focused.
  • The work required by the successful candidate is diverse and requires familiarity with state and local design standards, Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD, MicroStation/InRoads, and Microsoft Office Suite as well as experience with client and project management processes.
