The Trauma Program Coordinator (TPC) for the Level 1 Trauma Center will, under the direction of the Trauma Medical Director, be responsible for the implementation, advancement and evaluation of a comprehensive, regionalized system of trauma care in the Southern New Jersey Region. The TPC’s responsibilities include; operational, performance improvement, education, research, outreach and system initiatives. It shall be within the scope of the TPC’s position to represent the Regional Trauma Center in local, state and national trauma initiatives as well as organizations. The TPC shall maintain active membership in organizations such as the American Trauma Society, Society of Trauma Nursing, Emergency Nurses Association and or the American Association for Critical Care Nursing. In addition, it shall be the responsibility of the TPC, as a representative of the Level 1 Trauma Center at Cooper University Hospital, to be available to travel, study, and offer consultation regarding trauma care systems at regional and national level.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years experience in Emergency/Trauma, or Critical Care Pediatric Nursing.
  • Minimum two years in a nursing leadership position.
  • Graduate of NLN accredited school of nursing, MSN required.
  • Current NJ RN License
  • Current BLS/ PALS, ACLS and ATCN
  • CCRN or TCRN certification within a year of hire
  • ATCN instructor certification within a year of hire
  • Teaching and public speaking skills.
  • Flexible work hours.
