Position Summary: The Trauma Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a cost-effective, evidence-based system of care for trauma patients and their families across the continuum of care. This position functions independently as well as collaboratively with the Trauma Program Medical Director, healthcare team members, and management staff to ensure optimal trauma care delivery and program performance. The coordinator plays a key leadership role in trauma program development, injury prevention education, and community outreach. Responsibilities include serving as a liaison to local injury prevention coalitions and committees throughout Saline County, as well as to the Kansas Trauma Policy Group and the North Central Regional Trauma Council, in alignment with the requirements for Level III Trauma Center verification by the American College of Surgeons. This role requires a self-directed and self-motivated professional who can plan, execute, and monitor work with minimal supervision, while providing regular updates as requested. The Trauma Program Coordinator gathers trauma data from service activity, logs, computer databases, and patient charts to support injury research, epidemiology, and quality improvement. Duties also include entering data into a computerized trauma registry and generating trauma service reports.
