About The Position

This position is responsible for accepting payments for gas and store bought products while providing excellent guest service at all times. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Operates point of sale system (POS). Receives payments for product sold by cash, check, vouchers and credit or debit cards Issues necessary refunds, credits, or change to customers Collects and dispose of trash outside. Balances cash drawer at the end of each shift. Verifies age of customer if they are purchasing alcohol or cigarettes. Activates fuel pumps. Prepares daily reports of fuel and oil. Cleans store bathrooms. Operates price scanners. Sweeps and mops floors. Keeps controls of inventory and shrinkage. Maintains a clean, customer friendly environment in the store and surrounding property. Maintains product inventory and communicates any low stock to the supervisor. Promptly resolves gas related issues such as drive offs and pumps being down.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Slip resistant shoes
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred and at least three months cash handling experience.
  • Experience with Point of Sale (POS) system preferred.
  • Candidate must have previous customer service experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must complete and pass background screening.
  • Valid California drivers license

Responsibilities

  • Greet all guests in a friendly and welcoming way
  • Properly ring up merchandise with or without bar code
  • Make change and issue receipts to guest
  • Bag guest’s purchase if needed
  • Ability to count back change
  • Knows how to fully close out a transaction
  • Ability to collect cash and credit card payments from guests
  • Dusting the product shelves
  • Ability to upsell special products selected by Management
  • Keep the checkout area clean
  • Pass Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) training
  • Make coffee in commercial pots and air pots and set timer
  • Ability to accurately take coupons and adjust price for guest
  • Know the procedure for Tribal discounts for any Tribal Member
  • Clock in and out correctly
  • Know procedures for making Frazil
  • Pass Food Handler’s online Course
  • Able to place various food on to Roller grill to be cooked and pull them when expired
  • Keep drink station stocked and clean
  • Clean gas and diesel dispensers
  • Change Windshield cleaner buckets and stock paper towels
  • Ability to direct traffic alongside a Tier 2 cast member
  • Check that pump stickers are displayed properly
  • Regularly do cash drops to ensure safety of cashier according to cash policy
  • Know procedures for when a guest does not return for their change
  • Know how to “move pumps” for a guest if necessary
  • Understand procedures for accepting gas vouchers
  • Complete understanding of how to ring up fuel and diesel
  • Till variances at a minimum- less than 6 shifts with a variance of $5.00 plus or minus in a 90-day period
  • Understands how to get a bank from recycler
  • Understands how to close out a drawer for the day with recycler
  • Understands how to use the recycler for change
  • Understands how to make cash drops in the recycler
