PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Responsibility of the machine(s) to ensure that quality products are achieved at a consistent rate of speed in accordance with machine standards, and ensure all safety procedures are followed. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Setsup machine in a consistent manner as instructed in the training program,maintainthe procedureswith regard toproper set up unless the training is changed and properly recordedwith regard toprocedure Followsall checklist proceduresfully Keepsall parts in their proper place and recommend replacement or repair of worn parts byfilling out the designatedform Observessafety procedures at alltimes Operatestray machines as directedto meet productionrequirements Responsiblefor all equipment,tools assigned,andnotify thesupervisorof anyadditionaltools or equipment that would add to the efficiency and safety of theoperation Followsall instructions issued on the work jacket andadvisethesupervisorof any incorrect or non-recorded information that is necessary forproper set-up andoperation Keepsall necessary supplies available to the operator to ensure an efficientoperation Responsible for the quality of the product, packaging, labeling, and stocking Responsible for the quality of product manufactured concerning correct viscosity, color, shading, contrast, straining, and inkused   Seesthat pallet loads are accurately counted, tagged, and entered to the productionreport Followsthe stacking arrangement, number of layers,and height requirement for each case size from the Pallet Stacking Manual Once a pallet is full, callsthe stock puller on the paging system to move thepallet When the pallet is moved, placesanew pallet down by themachine Calculatesscrap rate to assure job stays within allowablelimits Communicates well with other teammembers   Wearsappropriate PPEfor the task and the area. Welcomes updates and improvements to processes and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of theoperation Performs work in a manner that keeps down time to aminimum Maintains a clean work environmentin accordance withFood Safety and 5Ssystems Followsall safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Use situational awareness andidentifyunsafe behaviors andconditions May be asked to help with duties in other areas ordepartments

Requirements

  • Experience operating a tray machine, preferably in a folding carton environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
  • Must have mechanical ability and skills.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
  • Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide both fractions and decimals, solve equations, read a tape measure, and have an understanding of both standard and metric measuring systems.
  • While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with arms and hands. Frequently is required to climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lifts/moves 25 to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with a 30-minute meal break any other applicable breaks during the shift) on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular attendance and reporting for work on time are necessary requirements as is availability for overtime work if necessary.
