About The Position

As a Treasury Payments Specialist, you will own the end-to-end management, optimization, and compliance of Cover Genius’s global disbursements. Your mission is to ensure 100% accuracy while driving cost-effective, automated payment solutions on a global scale. To excel in this role, you bring a deep understanding of domestic payment rails, currency management, and regulatory compliance. You will act as a key liaison between various banking Relationship Managers (RMs) and internal stakeholders to support global expansion. Success requires seamless collaboration across Finance, Treasury, Accounting, and Risk to ensure timely and compliant payment operations.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in payment operations, treasury, or global financial transactions (preferably within Banking, Fintech, or Treasury).
Timezone Availability: Must be based in EST to support our global disbursement cycles and coordinate with international banking partners.
Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with domestic and international payment methods, cross-border transactions, and foreign exchange (FX) conversions.
Operational Agility: The ability to remain flexible and function efficiently in high-pressure, urgent financial situations.
Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with banking portals, financial ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, SAP), and advanced Excel/Google Suite skills.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; a postgraduate degree or a record of high academic achievement is highly desirable.
Methodical Execution: Exceptional attention to detail when managing high-volume, sensitive financial data.
Strategic Problem Solving: Strong communication skills to effectively diagnose and resolve complex payment failures.
Global Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to engage with diverse teams across multiple global time zones.
Cultural Alignment: A proactive, 'Bold,' and 'Authentic' approach that reflects Cover Genius’s core values.
Communication Excellence: Clear and concise written and verbal skills for effective internal and external reporting.

Responsibilities

Own and manage the daily processing of global payments across various types (e.g., ACH, SEPA, SWIFT, local transfers), banks, and currencies.
Lead the monitoring of all outgoing payments in multiple bank portals/systems across several countries.
Drive continuous improvement and optimization of payment processes, reducing costs, minimizing failure rates, and accelerating settlement times.
Ensure all payments that are processed adhere to global financial regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
Stay updated on payment industry regulations and ensure settlement operations comply with all applicable laws and standards.
Collaborate internally and externally to leverage technology for automation and process improvements in settlement workflows.
