About The Position

Atrium Health Neurology South Park is a leading outpatient neurology practice dedicated to delivering exceptional, patient‑centered care for children and adults with a wide range of neurological conditions. Our team utilizes advanced diagnostics, evidence‑based treatments, and a collaborative approach to care for patients with stroke, seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, movement disorders, migraines, dementia, developmental neurological concerns, and other complex conditions. Our practice also offers specialized programs such as neurodiagnostic testing (EMG and EEG), botulinum toxin injections for migraines and movement disorders, and patient education and support for chronic neurological conditions. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team full-time. Ideal candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas: Experience in neurology, primary care, or specialty medicine preferred Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced outpatient environment In this role, you will serve as a key clinical resource for our Neurology practice by providing expert phone triage support to patients, caregivers, and community partners. You will use your clinical judgment to assess symptoms over the phone, prioritize patient needs, and ensure timely and appropriate escalation to providers. Your work will help streamline care, enhance patient safety, and support smooth communication across the care team. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience preferred
  • Current certification in BLS required.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Conduct telephone triage for neurology patients using evidence‑based protocols and critical thinking to determine the urgency of symptoms and the appropriate next steps.
  • Collect thorough patient histories, assess presenting concerns, and provide clear education, instructions, and follow‑up expectations.
  • Coordinate care by routing messages, managing requests, and collaborating closely with neurologists, advanced practice providers, and clinical support staff.
  • Document all interactions accurately in the electronic medical record to support continuity of care.
  • Manage high volumes of incoming calls while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered communication.
  • Support patient access by assisting with scheduling needs, medication refill processes, and test/result-related inquiries as appropriate.
  • Occasionally provide assistance with clinic flow, which may include rooming patients, supporting providers during clinic sessions, reinforcing education, or addressing urgent patient needs onsite.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, teamwork huddles, and process refinement efforts to enhance patient experience and clinic efficiency.
