Requirements

Clean driving record
Strong knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations and ability to adhere to them
Ability to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic and weather challenges
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to represent the Rescue Mission professionally
Ability to perform vehicle inspections , perform preventative maintenance , and keep work areas clean and organized
Willingness to submit background and drug checks and provide employment recommendations
Truck maneuvering abilities
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid NYS CDL ‘B’/A with air brake endorsement in compliance with company driving criteria required
2+ years of previous driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operating a 26-foot straight truck to transport and deliver donated goods to our Attended Donation Centers across Central New York.
Safely unloading goods at donation centers are returning carts of donations to our Liverpool warehouse for sorting and processing.
Documenting driving hours, fuel/toll receipts, and complying with driving regulations (e.g., route, parking, weight limits) and company policies and procedures .
Performing truck inspections and conducting maintenance to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
Providing exceptional customer service while maintaining professional interactions with donation center staff and the public.
Ability and willingness to carry out delivery instructions and to report any defects, accidents, and violations .
