Serves as back-up to the Investment Operations functions including preparation of manual trade advices for calls, tenders and maturities. Also serves as back-up to the TSS Team Leader. Responsible for bill paying on behalf of clients, account maintenance, as well as opening and closing all trust accounts. Provide a full range of support to the Financial Group. Education and Experience: Associates Degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and experience. A minimum of 4 years experience in trust, banking, paralegal, accounting, brokerage or insurance environment. Experience in the securities and/or trust administration area preferred Skills and Abilities: Excellent organizational and customer service skills. Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment, including Word and Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work flexible schedules rotating to various positions within the department as necessary. Working knowledge of database and accounting software, with ability to setup plus analyze and interpret report data. Understanding of Trust Accounting Systems. Requires an understanding of securities movement and control unique to the trust and brokerage industry. Must be a strategic thinker and able to support the growth of the NBT Financial Group. Tasks Performed: 25% Serve as primary back-up to the Trust Investment Support Specialist including preparation of manual trade advices for calls, tenders and maturities for several insurance companies accounts 20% Process fees, savings bonds, free receipts and deliveries. Post transactions to the Trust System. Create and distribute various reports and letters 15% Respond to internal and external customer inquiries. 15% Review and set-up accounts on system. Close accounts.
