  • Understand business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives.
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system.
  • Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements.
  • Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program.
  • Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
  • Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies in accordance with established accessibility guidelines and branding standards.
  • Collaborate with Code for America and cross-functional teams to apply industry best practices in UI/UX design.
  • Engage in discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning to ensure that design decisions are aligned with business objectives.
  • Employ a comprehensive suite of tools—including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar—and implement usability testing, responsive design, and SEO optimization strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces for systems that incorporate Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
  • Ability to understand and design for complex business logic and regulatory requirements.
  • Skill in presenting complex data and AI insights in a clear, concise, and understandable visual format.
  • Deep commitment to understanding user needs and advocating for user-centered design principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present design solutions to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of WCAG and other accessibility guidelines to ensure inclusive design.
  • 11 years of hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
  • 11 years of demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, translating business needs into intuitive design solutions that align with accessibility and branding standards.
  • 10 years of experience applying UX design principles such as hierarchy, contrast, and alignment to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces.
  • 10 years of experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including sketch-to-visual fidelity transitions.
  • 5 years of experience designing graphical diagrams and visual narratives to communicate timelines, workflows, and system architecture.
  • 3 years of demonstrated ability to facilitate design workshops and feedback sessions with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • 3 years of Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • 3 years of strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
