We’re looking for a thoughtful and collaborative UI/UX Designer to join our growing team and help craft intuitive, inclusive, and visually engaging digital experiences for healthcare organizations. This role is ideal for early- to mid-career designers who are comfortable working across the full design process—from user research to wireframes to polished prototypes—and who thrive in cross-functional environments. As a UI/UX Designer, you’ll report to a Design and Development Manager and collaborate closely with developers, content strategists, and our product/project management team. You’ll create user-centered interfaces that balance accessibility, brand alignment, and functionality, while contributing to an evolving design system and helping shape digital products with real-world impact.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate solutions
  • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design intent
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure thoughtful, feasible, and accessible implementation
  • Apply and contribute to design systems while maintaining consistency and scalability across products
  • Identify opportunities for product and workflow improvements through user insights, analytics, and stakeholder input
  • Present design concepts clearly, articulating rationale and incorporating feedback from internal teams and client stakeholders
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to align on goals and timelines
  • Stay current with emerging UX trends, tools, accessibility standards, and methodologies
  • Apply design thinking principles to solve complex user and business challenges—especially within regulated domains like healthcare
  • 2–5 years of UX design experience in product-focused or web-based environments (agency or in-house)
  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating problem-solving, process thinking, and responsive interface design
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, and applying findings to improve the user experience
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
  • Familiarity with design systems and component-based design approaches (Atomic Design, etc.)
  • Experience working within CMS-driven platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal); Gutenberg familiarity is a plus
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) beneficial but not required
  • Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, or other regulated industries is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines
  • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, paid time off, PTO cash out
  • Support for you and your family: Family resources, EAP counseling sessions, access Headspace®, backup child and elder care, maternity/paternity leave and more
  • Professional development programs: DaVita offers a variety of programs to help strong performers grow within their career and also offers on-demand virtual leadership and development courses through DaVita’s online training platform StarLearning
