UKG's Intern Academy program is dedicated to helping college students jump start their business careers at a top-ranked technology company that cares about its people. Responsibilities

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to enhance the user experience and ensure proper accessibility of UKG products
  • Planning and conducting moderated and unmoderated usability tests
  • Investigating and documenting user journeys throughout the products
  • Translating strategy, business requirements and usability best practices into high-quality designs that support and reinforce UKG's product vision, brand, and business objectives
  • Understanding standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluate the usability of products with assistive technologies
  • Collaborating with engineers to identify, reproduce, prioritize, and document defects
  • Creating UI component libraries to help designers consistently comply with UKG patterns in their mockups
  • Documenting and expanding on the UKG Design Language System (DLS) so that it can be easily consumed across the organization and meet the latest and greatest product suite needs.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, software engineering, UX design, HCI, visual arts, graphic design, cognitive psychology, or similar field. Work samples may be requested.

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, polished interpersonal skills, strong self-motivation and maturity.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of Sketch and/or Figma a plus
  • Experience developing desktop, mobile and responsive web applications with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or Accessibility best practices is a bonus
  • Experience or familiarity with user research methods such as usability tests, surveys, and/or interviews
