We are seeking a highly skilled UI/UX Systems Engineer with experience in joining our multidisciplinary engineering team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between human-centered design and complex satellite communication systems, delivering intuitive, mission-critical interfaces that enhance user experience and system performance. You will work closely with systems engineers, software developers, satellite network specialists, and end-users to design, prototype, and optimize operator interfaces for satellite ground control, mission planning, and communication system management.

  • Lead the design and development of user interfaces for SATCOM ground and terminal systems, with a focus on usability, performance, and reliability.
  • Conduct user research, persona development, and workflow analysis specific to SATCOM operators, maintainers, and analysts.
  • Translate complex system requirements and workflows into intuitive UI/UX designs and wireframes.
  • Develop interactive prototypes and UI mockups using industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure).
  • Collaborate with software and systems engineers to integrate UI designs into operational SATCOM platforms and mission systems.
  • Support system-level design reviews, interface control documents, and human factors engineering analysis.
  • Contribute to HMI/HCI documentation and usability testing in both development and field environments.
  • Stay up to date on best practices and emerging technologies in both UI/UX design and SATCOM systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Human Factors/HCI/HMI focus or related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design or systems engineering, including experience.
  • Proficiency with UI/UX tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Experience with design for complex, real-time, data-intensive systems, ideally in aerospace, defense, or telecommunications environments.
  • Ability to work across disciplines and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Active Top Secret security clearance required.
  • Master’s degree in related technical or design discipline.
  • Experience with DoD or aerospace/defense systems engineering processes (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-178C).
  • Familiarity with SATCOM architectures including GEO/MEO/LEO networks, waveform standards (e.g., DVB-S2, MIL-STD-188), and network management systems.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps pipelines.
  • Experience with usability testing in classified or operational SATCOM environments.
  • 70% company-paid medical insurance
  • 100% company-paid dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan with company match and profit sharing
  • Company-paid life and AD&D insurance
  • Education assistance program
  • Paid time off (PTO) starting at 15 days annually, increasing with tenure
  • 13 paid holidays annually, including a year-end shutdown
