About The Position
General: Modern Industries is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Ultrasonic Testing Level II Inspector to support our manufacturing operations. You will perform high-precision ultrasonic inspections. This is a role for an inspector who thrives on technical accuracy and takes pride in adhering to the most stringent federal standards
Requirements
- Active Level II Certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT) compliant with standards such as NAS 410 , ASNT SNT-TC-1A , and/or Certification
- Able to successfully pass internal written general, specific, and practical exams.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent, often supplemented by specialized NDT technical training or an associate degree.
- Fundamental understanding of ultrasonic theory, transducer selection, sound beam physics, and familiarity with aerospace or industrial codes like NAVSEA , ASME .
Responsibilities
- Conduct Advanced Inspections : Perform ultrasonic testing—including shear wave, straight beam, and thickness gauging—on complex geometries, steel forgings, steel cylinders, etc.
- Standardize and Calibrate : Set up, standardize, and verify the performance of immersion and contact ultrasonic equipment to ensure system accuracy before use.
- Interpret and Evaluate Results : Analyze A-scan, B-scan, and C-scan ultrasonic recordings to identify and document flaws or defects according to strict customer
