Job Summary The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures; calibrates and operates ultrasound equipment. Processes images and coordinates patient care with other patient services. Maintains patient records, keeps track of inventory, orders supplies and maintains proper working order of equipment. Technologist focus on infant, children and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed. All imaging staff must be able to address family and patient concerns to help facilitate a Family Centered Care approach.

Requirements

  • Experience working in an acute care setting.
  • Graduate from approved program of Ultrasonography.
  • Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in one or more specialties
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to three (3) years working in an acute care pediatric environment.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in an acute care setting.
  • Advance certification for Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVT).
