DIS is seeking a Full-Time Ultrasound Technologist (1 FTE) to support the VA Portland Health Care System. Shift Availability: Full-Time – 80 hours per pay period May include: 8-hour shifts 9-hour rotating shifts 10-hour shifts Rotating weekends and Federal Holidays possible On-call coverage required (significant on-call allocation) Overtime possible Period of Performance: Base Year: June 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027 Up to four option years, if interested through May 31, 2031

Requirements

  • RDMS certification required
  • Graduate of accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Minimum three (3) years of recent ultrasound experience
  • Active Oregon license (or ability to obtain)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50–100 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to pass federal background screening

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospital-based imaging preferred
  • Knowledge of PACS and digital imaging systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in hospital setting
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment
  • Understand anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to imaging
  • Document clinical findings accurately in VA systems
  • Maintain high-quality imaging standards
  • Follow VA infection control and patient safety policies
  • Respond to after-hours and emergency imaging needs
  • Maintain equipment sterility and readiness
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and care teams
