As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will welcome employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and log activity while maintaining a visible presence that helps reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with site teams, respond to access alarms and requests, and deliver a customer-focused experience. Requirements

  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying credentials, issuing visitor passes, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing visitors and contractors to the proper destinations.
  • Screen vehicles, deliveries, and authorized property removals in accordance with site procedures, documenting findings and reporting irregularities to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, completing reports, and supporting site emergency protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including gates, parking areas, and perimeter lines, while monitoring for conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
