About The Position

The Underwriting Associate is responsible for assisting and supporting underwriters with quoting, rating and issuing policy renewals. This position also responds to problem situations from brokers and performs customer service tasks. What will your job entail?

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Business, Risk Management, or similar field.
• 6 Months to 1 year of experience in related field or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the full cycle underwriting process, from submission review to policy issuance stages.
• Review and analyze daily incoming submissions from RT Specialty to determine eligibility within the underwriting appetite, and respond to brokers with pertinent feedback in a high volume, fast paced environment.
• Liaise with Underwriters and Operations team to confirm quotes, policy issuance instructions for policies, endorsements, forms, notices, etc.
• Identify proper forms and endorsements issued to quote submissions and policy issuance in tandem with Underwriters and Team Lead.
• Work with fellow underwriting assistants and developers to find efficiencies in the operations process.
• Follow departmental procedure to rate, quote, bind, and issue policies.
• Run reports for management or as directed by Underwriters including exposure data, loss runs, broker submissions, declinations, and other ad hoc requests.
• Track premium due and assist underwriters in requesting payment, resolving premium discrepancies, and issuing invoices.
• Ensure all parts of the Underwriting workflow are completed both accurately and on time.
• Involvement in special projects as needed.
