About The Position

Are you 16 or older and interested in exploring a career in healthcare? The Unit Assistant position is a great entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with residents in a long-term care setting. This role is designed for individuals who want to begin working in healthcare while building experience toward becoming a CNA. 🩺 Position Overview The Unit Assistant supports residents with daily activities under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will work alongside nurses and other staff on the unit to help ensure residents are comfortable, supported, and engaged. This is a part-time position with the opportunity to transition to full-time hours once CNA certification is completed . 🎓 CNA Advancement Opportunity Interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)? Gain valuable on-the-job experience while taking your CNA class. SSC will pay for employees to take the CNA class through LTC. Build a strong foundation for a long-term healthcare career. ⏰ Available Shifts 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Moring hours can be flexible with school schedules) 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Flexible hours make this a great opportunity for students! ✅ Essential Functions Transport residents in wheelchairs to and from meals and activities (No lifting required – pushing wheelchairs only) Make beds, change linens, and stock rooms Assist with resident laundry (wash, dry, fold, and put away) Pass ice water and record fluid intake Assist with meal tray passing as needed Empty linen and trash carts at end of shift and as needed Provide 1:1 time and companionship with residents 🎯 Who Should Apply?
