The Unit Coordinator is responsible for providing clerical support as part of a customer-focused, service excellence-oriented team. Exhibits effective communication. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and relationship building with families and employees. Demonstrates understanding of the call bell system. Demonstrates understanding of use of proper telephone etiquette. Demonstrates ability to communicate via secure communication. Demonstrates knowledge of use and expectations for sending and receiving email notifications as appropriate and directed by DON. Demonstrates ability to understand and process all matters in EHR. Verbalizes understanding of storage and inventory of medical and office supplies, assisting Supply Coordinator to maintain unit inventory. Demonstrates proper infection prevention and control procedures. Demonstrates ability to schedule appointments and transportation for patients. Demonstrates ability to operate required equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with computers
  • Excellent Customer Services Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Experience using Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint)
  • Must be flexible, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be able to make effective decisions and work as part of a service excellence team

Nice To Haves

  • CNA or Medical Assistant Certification preferred
