Baptist Health Louisville is looking to hire a full-time, 32 hour per week Unit Educator. The Unit Educator for Surgical Services assists in coordinating the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the ongoing educational needs of Surgical Services staff. This role supports staff development by designing and delivering educational activities that enhance clinical performance, professional growth, and patient care outcomes. The Unit Educator collaborates with departmental leadership to develop competency plans, create and implement competency evaluations, and ensure staff maintain required clinical competencies. Responsibilities include assisting with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of departmental orientation for new employees, maintaining documentation of staff education requirements and training activities, and partnering with management, physicians, staff, and other educators to support the development and implementation of policies and procedures. The Unit Educator also serves as a liaison between the department and the organization through participation in committees, task forces, and organizational initiatives. This role requires strong visibility, accessibility, and collaboration with staff and leadership while promoting continuous professional development. Candidates must be eligible for RN licensure in Kentucky, with a BSN or equivalent degree preferred. BLS and BLS Instructor certification are required, along with 3–5 years of perioperative experience and strong written and verbal communication skills. Variable hours may be required to support multiple departments and shifts.
