About The Position

Urgent Care NP/PA Dates: Ongoing coverage needs Start date as soon as credentialed Reason for Coverage: Long-term permanent search Locations: Asheville Candler Goldsboro Kinston Roanoke Rapids Rockingham Stratford Wilson Practice Setting: Stand alone Urgent Care Procedures including I&D, laceration repair, ear irrigation and other minor procedures Up to 55 PPD depending on location Schedule: Minimum 8 shift per month Monday-Friday, 8:00a-8:00p Saturday-Sunday, 8:00a-4:00p Patient Population: 6 months to Geriatric EMR: EPIC Credentialing: 14 days Responsibilities (Generalized): Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Order and interpret diagnostic tests Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices. Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and NP specialty Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care Document patient care accurately and thoroughly Skills: Strong clinical knowledge and assessment skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients Proficiency in performing physical examinations and procedures relevant to their specialty Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions Time management skills to manage a patient workload efficiently Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a healthcare team

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics)
  • Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
  • Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in North Carolina
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
  • Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in North Carolina
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
