About the position

U.S. Bancorp Asset Management is seeking an Investment Product and Strategy Manager to lead a newly-formed team of individuals responsible for investment product management and development. The Investment Product and Strategy Manager provides frontline leadership and direction for the product managers of USBAM's fixed income and multi-asset class product solutions; owns strategy and execution for new product launches; develops our product roadmap in alignment with the firm's strategic vision; identifies key business opportunities and issues; works independently and in concert with sales and marketing to develop relevant marketing concepts and campaigns. The successful candidate will - through independent analysis of key trends, investor data and the competitive landscape - develop strategies, recommendations and implementation plans based on these opportunities and contribute to the fulfillment of the firm's strategic vision. To that end, the Investment Product and Strategy Manager will participate in and oversee the development of both short- and long-term projects to meet USBAM's strategic initiatives. Requires a comprehensive knowledge of investment products, and tactical project execution skills. The Investment Product and Strategy Manager will also act as lead on product development and launches, with the help of the product managers. This includes significant research, including feasibility, cost-benefit analysis and market opportunity assessment. The Investment Product and Strategy manager will facilitate new product launches across all facets of the business, managing a project team of up to 15 to accomplish this.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall management of the Investment Product team, the oversight of the investment product line and new product development.
  • Manages design, development, implementation and enhancement of new or existing products in support of the organization and business line objectives.
  • Develop product strategy and financial business plan, working with finance, sales and USBAM's distribution partners.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the product line and be the 'product advocate' by proactively and clearly disseminating investment-related information and developing the product message to USBAM's sales team and distribution partners.
  • Is current on asset management and distribution trends, strategic product and market perspectives; anticipates changes and explores innovation to apply to our product line.
  • Responsible for risk program adherence related to product line.
  • Ensures products meet state and Federal regulatory requirements and coordinates legal review of all supporting collateral materials and documentation.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree required; advanced certifications a plus.
  • 10-12 years' experience in asset management or the financial services industry required - preferably in product management, product development or strategy role.
  • Experience with investment-grade fixed income, securities lending, private funds, multi-asset class management and/or money market funds strongly preferred.
