We are seeking a skilled UX Engineer to help design, implement, and evolve user experiences for developer tooling built on Oracle Database technology. The ideal candidate is passionate about crafting intuitive, high quality interfaces, bridging design and engineering, and partnering closely with product managers and developers to deliver seamless user experiences.

Requirements

  • Completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent science/engineering field by August 2026
  • Must start within 12 months of graduating with their degree (start date: June/ July 2026)
  • Proven experience as a UX Engineer, Frontend Engineer with strong UX focus, or similar role
  • Strong proficiency with modern frontend development (TypeScript + component-based UI)
  • Experience building and shipping React-based user interfaces
  • Working knowledge of UI testing practices:
  • Unit testing
  • End-to-end (E2E) testing
  • Familiarity with frontend build and development best practices (local dev workflows, builds, debugging)
  • Familiarity with modern frontend tooling and workflows for building, testing, and maintaining UI components
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and information architecture
  • Experience building design systems or reusable component libraries
  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices
  • Familiarity with integrating frontend applications with RESTful APIs
  • Experience with source control systems and agile development
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Reside in the Canada and/or attend a university in Canada.
  • Able to acquire work authorization in Canada in 2026.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience collaborating on or implementing designs from tools like Figma
  • Familiarity with developer experience (DX) concepts and building tooling for technical users
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimizing modern web applications
  • Exposure to Java-based backend services and microservice architectures; Micronaut experience is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with usability testing, analytics, or experimentation (A/B testing) workflows
