About the position

As a User Experience / User Interface (UX/UI) Designer, you will be part of an integral team committed to taking user experience design to the next level at Mercury Marine. You will work collaboratively and independently with highly qualified industrial designers, user interface designers and usability professionals who are responsible for developing helm to stern experiences for both on and off boat experiences. This is a hybrid position is based in Fond du Lac, WI and requires onsite presence in the office at least 3 days per week or more based on job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver functional, high-impact designs that maximize usability, customer desire, and market success.
  • Design and prototype intuitive, visually compelling user interfaces for embedded systems and mobile applications.
  • Own the end-to-end UX/UI journey—from discovery and wireframes to high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
  • Translate complex user needs and business objectives into elegant, user-centered solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive design execution across all digital touchpoints.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our design system, ensuring scalability, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Continuously improve product intuitiveness and accessibility through research, testing, and iteration.
  • Ensure all design solutions support business goals, technical constraints, and brand standards.
  • Promote a culture of customer empathy and insight-driven design, rapid prototyping, storytelling through user journeys, and radical collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in User Experience/User Interface related field.
  • 5+ years of UX/UI design experience, with a strong portfolio of consumer-facing digital products (mobile, connected vessel platforms).
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design, interaction design, and visual design principles.
  • Skilled in conducting user research, usability testing, and synthesizing insights into actionable design.
  • Able to craft and communicate compelling user narratives that drive design decisions.
  • Expert in Figma and familiar with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Working knowledge of digital production processes and constraints.
