UTILITIES PIPELAYER
About The Position
This employee is responsible for the assisting installation and maintenance of the City’s natural gas system. • Assist in the installation and maintenance of all meter sets. • First responder to emergency natural gas calls during regular working hours. • Performs on-call duties after hours as scheduled. • Assist in the maintenance of building and grounds. • Assist in the installation on mains and services. • Assist in the installation and maintenance of AMR’s. • Assist in the maintenance of Natural Gas regulator stations. · Assist in the maintenance of the CNG station. · Makes meter exchanges/regulators and completes clerical work for same. · Completes natural gas trouble reports and Cityworks work orders. · Handles spotting Natural gas mains and service lines. · Makes minor repairs to natural gas mains and service (repair of broken lines, wrapping natural gas mains, etc.). · Assist in the repairs of natural gas meters and regulators. · Assist in preventing atmospheric corrosion with painting of meters and above ground piping.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to complete the operator qualifications that is mandated by the Georgia Public Service Commission
- Must have the basic knowledge of common hand tools and the use.
