About The Position

As a Utility Engineer at JLL, you'll play a pivotal role in optimizing building performance and energy efficiency across our diverse portfolio of commercial properties. You'll collaborate with facility management teams, clients, and vendors to design, implement, and maintain utility systems that drive operational excellence and sustainability. This position empowers you to thrive by combining technical expertise with strategic thinking, as you analyze energy consumption patterns, develop cost-saving initiatives, and ensure regulatory compliance. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification
  • 2+ years of experience in building engineering with strong technical background in machinery, plumbing, equipment repair and maintenance
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Demonstrated proficiency in proper use and care of tools and instruments

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environments
  • Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Experience with energy management and utility optimization programs
  • Familiarity with building automation systems and controls
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical equipment

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting
  • Execute repairs, inspections, and replacements for automated doors, office furniture/space enhancement, lighting fixtures, floor and ceiling tiles, and plumbing systems
  • Monitor and maintain building engineering systems to ensure energy-efficient, safe operation while minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and accurate record-keeping
  • Collaborate with building engineering teams to protect and improve client asset value while ensuring all systems perform their intended functions
  • Supervise and assess the quality of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
  • Maintain compliance with all safety procedures, GMP training qualifications, and site compliancy standards
  • Respond promptly and courteously to facility requests within JLL and client guidelines while supporting the operations team with building and equipment maintenance
  • Work with hazardous materials and chemicals, wear air purifying respirator and hearing protection, lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and operate in confined spaces as job functions require
