About The Position

This position does require the employee to perform preventative maintenance and cleanouts on our heading and cold forming machines. Due to the nature of the position, employees will be working in dirty environments. Company uniforms are provided and a uniform cleaning service is contracted to ensure upkeep of uniforms, General Statement of Responsibilities Performs general production duties in a J.I.T. manufacturing system, e.g. – Employee Involvement, Total Quality, Continuous Improvement, Housekeeping, Elimination of Waste, Communication, Coordination, etc. that meets production and customer requirements. Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Able to reach above shoulder, bend, kneel and stoop.
Able to wear personal protective equipment in areas where applicable and/or dictated by task.
Able to use mobile equipment devices.
Performs work accurately and efficiently in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Manufacturing Instructions, TS16949/ISO Quality Procedures, and other relevant documents.
Meets all quality specifications.
Meets internal and external customer delivery schedules and commitments on a consistent basis.
Understands and follows all health, safety, environmental regulations/rules always.
Always maintains equipment and work area in a neat and orderly manner.
Maximizes equipment run time and material yield.
Accurately completes reports, logs, and other documentation.

Demonstrates proper use and care of hand tools.

Responsibilities

Assist Maintenance department in daily preventative measures.
Performs machine cleanouts on all plant production equipment.
Maintains water tanks and ensures proper oil inventory at machines.
Removal of plant scrap, chip hoppers and slug hoppers.
Assists in maintaining plant washing equipment (includes adding chemical additives)
Cleaning of facility, including rest rooms.
Facility grounds keeping, including lawn maintenance.
Performs hazardous waste removal.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Ability to follow and understand written and verbal instructions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Dumping of parts and bin removal
Support of manufacturing operations (i.e., tool washing, inventory control)
Removal and disposal of trash.
General plant housekeeping
Training other employees.
Perform 5S activities.
Operation of mobile equipment
Minor periodic maintenance and lubrication
