About The Position

We are seeking an individual to join our team in Pittsboro, IN. We currently have an opportunity for the right candidate for the position of Utility Operator. Job Summary: Safely and proficiently operate equipment. Primary Responsibilities: operate a front end loader in order to feed the Metal Recovery Plant, load slag/scrap customer trucks or operate heavy haul/dump trucks around the job site. Secondary duties assigned based on business need at management discretion. Are you the right candidate? This role requires that the employee be alert and drug free at all times for the safety of the employee and his co-workers. This is a steel mill environment with large mobile equipment operating in the vicinity of employee. This person operates equipment in all areas of a busy steel mill. Must be able to climb in and out of the equipment, which involves several steps and ladders, may be required to shift gears manually, and work a 12 hour per day work shift both daytime and nighttime. Is subjected to all types of weather when he is outside of the vehicle and also is subject to uneven surfaces with loose materials when walking. When the equipment is not required, employee may be re-assigned to other large off road mobile equipment or may be required to perform manual laboring duties such as clean up, shoveling, etc.
