About The Position

M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety, flexibility, and material flow are critical to maintaining efficient production operations. The Utility Operator supports various aspects of production by managing pallet movement, stocking production supplies, recycling nonconforming product, and monitoring inventory levels. This role requires the use of forklifts, grinders, handheld RF scanners, and other production tools to support daily manufacturing needs across multiple areas of the facility.

Requirements

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use a manual pallet jack
  • Ability to use banding equipment
  • Strong hand-eye coordination
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Working knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, PRP, HACCP, and food contact material requirements (in applicable facilities)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Forklift Certification required (in-house training provided)
  • Ability to lift and handle 45–50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to lift and handle at least 35 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditions
  • Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Production Packer experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
  • Install triggers, gaskets, tampers, vent plugs, metal or plastic spouts, and metal or plastic handles manually or using installation devices
  • Apply silicone to lids using a brush
  • Remove finished products that do not meet quality standards and report nonconformance
  • Create boxes for lids using a tape gun
  • Operate Child Warning Stamper to apply labels to pails
  • Complete required paperwork for production counts and rejects
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles
  • Scan work orders and input required information
  • Print and label finished pallets
  • Grind all nonconforming products
  • Assemble cardboard gaylords, pull full gaylords, and mark finished gaylords with material identification
  • Maintain proper color and/or material levels for required machinery
  • Change color or material as requested by work orders
  • Remove lids or pails from under or around machines and document product loss
  • Weigh and label boxes of colors or materials after use
  • Track material movement using RF scanners to monitor inventory levels
  • Clear empty gaylords from the production floor
  • Clean out excess material and remove old labels
  • Break down empty gaylords and transport them to designated holding areas
