Requirements

  • Education & Experience High School Diploma or Technical/Vocational certification in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in utilities, facilities maintenance, industrial equipment, or building operations preferred.
  • This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Utility System Monitoring & Operation Monitor and record operating parameters for major utilities, including: Chilled water systems Compressed air systems Cooling towers Potable and process water systems Wastewater treatment systems HVAC equipment and building management systems (BMS)
  • Perform routine walk-throughs to identify abnormal conditions, leaks, noise, temperature fluctuations, or equipment alarms. Respond to utility alarms, outages, or deviations to restore systems to normal operation.
  • Maintenance & Repairs Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, VFDs, sensors, filters, chillers, and related mechanical equipment. Replace worn or damaged parts, gaskets, belts, and fittings as required. Assist in troubleshooting electrical components such as control panels, breakers, contactors, and control wiring (as per skill level and certifications). Support contractors during major repairs, shutdowns, or equipment replacements.
  • Facilities Support Conduct building inspections to ensure proper functioning of facility assets such as lighting, emergency systems, plumbing, and general infrastructure. Perform minor facility repairs including fixture replacement, minor plumbing fixes, and mechanical adjustments. Maintain cleanliness and organization of utility rooms, mechanical rooms, and maintenance work areas.
  • Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate logs of equipment readings, maintenance activities, spare parts used, and work orders completed. Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP (if applicable), and facility operational guidelines. Assist with SOP development, updates, and adherence. Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when servicing equipment.
  • Team Collaboration Work closely with Facilities Engineering to report system issues or anomalies. Communicate equipment status, risks, and recommended corrective actions to supervisors. Support cross-functional activities during facility outages, maintenance shutdowns, and emergency events.
